Becoming Water (Tornar-se Água)
Dance, Meditation, and Projection Workshop Exploring Our Relationship with Water

With artist and choreographer Marcella França

"Becoming Water" offers an immersion into the water cycle through somatic dance and guided meditation techniques. The workshop promotes a state of flow and decolonizes our notions of time, body, and movement through our intrinsic connection to water.

Becoming Water is the result of 15 years of multidisciplinary artistic research spanning dance, performance, and visual arts. Dedicated to the intersection of science, indigenous diaspora vision, Buddhist philosophy, and guided meditation, this research has allowed the artist to explore the physicochemical aspects of water, correlating them with themes of fluidity, impermanence, time, and memory.

No prior dance experience is required.

The workshop fosters a state of flow—an experience that decolonizes and unblocks the body and linear time, reconnecting us to our fluid essence while opening new creative horizons. The session can also serve as a ritual for emotional self-healing, increasing body and spatial awareness by connecting us with our own volatilities, cycles, and fluid nature.
